Please Note the following:
We use a sliding scale to ensure that our cancellation policy is fair to both nanny and client. Cancellations with 24 hours or more notice will not incur any payment. Cancellations with 12 - 24 hours notice will require four hours or the original booking duration (if less than four hours) payment to the nanny and the regular booking fee is to be paid to Wollongong Nannies.
Cancellations with less than 12 hours notice will require full payment of the scheduled booking to the nanny and the regular booking fee is to be paid to Wollongong Nannies.
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy for all casual bookings; any cancellations outside of this window require full payment to the nanny. Casual and one-off booking fees are non-refundable, regardless of cancellation.
Cancellation Method
We kindly ask that cancellations must be submitted through the app to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Payments for nanny services and fees are processed securely through Stripe, our direct debit payment provider. Stripe enables automatic, secure transactions using the payment method families have linked to their account.
Regular Nanny Services: Fees for regular bookings are debited automatically 12 hours prior to the commencement of each scheduled shift.
Casual Nanny Services: Fees for casual bookings are debited immediately upon confirmation of the nanny placement.
Corporate Care & External Services (e.g., Insurance Clients): For corporate clients and other arrangements, we issue weekly invoices, with payment required upon receipt.
Nanny payments are also processed through Stripe. After each shift is completed, the nanny submits their timesheet, and payment is released directly to their nominated account. This ensures fast, secure, and reliable payments for all completed work.
One of the benefits of registering with Wollongong Nannies is our ability to find replacement nannies, in the case of last-minute cancellations or emergencies*.
Wollongong Nannies conducts all job advertisements, interviewing, screening and credential checks of potential candidates. We will support you to find a nanny that is the perfect fit for your family and understand the importance of a harmonious relationship between nanny, child and family.
*Wollongong Nannies will exhaust all avenues to find a replacement nanny, but we cannot guarantee this.

Your responsibilities when engaging a nanny
In the arrangement where you engage a nanny who you pay directly, you are considered the employer. Depending on your care requirements and individual circumstances, there may be superannuation and workers insurance policy obligations to comply with. More information on this can be found under “Method of Engagement” in Resources.
